Founded with a passion for engineering excellence, Supashock has left an indelible mark on the motorsport world. With roots in Adelaide, South Australia, Supashock as an automotive technology company has redefined suspension systems, pushing boundaries and achieving unrivalled success.
Since its inception, Supashock has consistently brought cutting-edge innovation to the racetrack. Supashock’s suspension solutions have transformed handling dynamics, giving drivers and teams consistent, high-level performance. The collaboration with elite racing teams has resulted in podium finishes, championship titles, and an unwavering reputation for precision engineering.
With each victory, the company’s legacy grows, reflecting a dedication to pushing limits and chasing excellence in the world of high-performance racing. Supashock’s journey from a humble workshop to the global motorsport stage is a testament to the power of innovation, passion, and an unyielding commitment to crafting the future of motorsport technology.
In 2014, Ford Performance Racing won at Bathurst running Supashock dampers, and won the V8 Supercars Championship overall with drivers Paul Morris and Chaz Mostert at the wheel. In 2015, FPR once again won the V8 Supercars Championship on Supashock dampers, with drivers Mark Winterbottom and Steven Richards at the wheel.
To date, Supashock dampers have been homologated into the Repco Supercars Championship (the permier motorsport category in Australasia and one of Australia’s biggest sports), FIA Toyota Gazoo Racing Formula Regional Oceania Championship, FIA GT3 Championship, and Circuit Excel Racing Australia.
Repco Supercars Championship
Supashock’s dampers form part of the “Pedders Dampers by Supashock” package that is the controlled suspension package for Supercars, a program which began in 2020 and continues to this day with the Gen3 Supercars. For the 2023 season, the Chevrolet Camaro joined the championship under the new Gen3 ruleset, restoring the Camaro and Mustang rivalry that headlined the early years of the Australian Touring Car Championship.
Under the new Gen3 ruleset, Supashock’s patented through-shaft damper design has once again been deployed to service the entire field – a design that was pioneered in Supercars by Supashock’s Founder and CEO, Oscar Fiorinotto. Supashock’s through-shaft damper is engineered and manufactured in South Australia at Supashock’s advanced manufacturing facility in Holden Hill.
Toyota Gazoo Racing Series NZ
Supashock was chosen as the control damper supplier for the FIA Toyota Gazoo Racing Formula Regional Oceania Championship (formerly known as the Castrol Toyota Racing Series NZ). Delivering fast, competitive racing, the championship is New Zealand’s fastest racing category and is officially recognised by the world’s governing body, the FIA, as one of its six global Formula Regional Championships. The championship is recommended as a critical part of the career for any young racing driver serious about making it to Formula 1 or other high-level international motorsport championships.
To meet the performance requirements of the Castrol Toyota Formula Regional Oceania Championship, Supashock designed and manufactured a bespoke mono-tube, two-way adjustable damper incorporating its race winning technology.
Supashock’s damper encompasses proprietary components developed through extensive research and development of cutting-edge materials. These developments have resulted in a product with fast force response, low hysteresis, low weight and increased thermal stability. These characteristics provide performance and reliability advantages such as reduced tyre thermal degradation and increased grip.
Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, Supashock dampers redefine handling dynamics, delivering unmatched stability, responsiveness, and control. Designed to thrive in the demanding environment of Formula racing, they seamlessly adapt to changing conditions, offering drivers the confidence to push limits and conquer corners with finesse.
