Why Supashock was Chosen as Sole Supplier for the Castrol Toyota Racing Series

4 SEPTEMBER 2019

On the 4th of September 2019, South Australia’s SupaShock was announced as the sole supplier for the new 290 horsepower race cars from Toyota Gazoo Racing NZ, expected to be seen on the track for the Castrol Toyota Racing Series in January 2020.

Adelaide-based SupaShock use a proven formula across many forms of motorsport such as Formula 1, Formula E, V8 Supercars, V8 Utes Australia and GT3. With an experienced team of engineers and specialists, SupaShock design bespoke solutions that have seen racing teams reach new heights time and again.

Supashock Founder and CEO Oscar Fiorinotto is pleased to be working with Toyota TRS, “We are delighted to be a part of the Castrol Toyota Racing Series as the Control Damper supplier and very much look forward to developing a long and successful relationship with Toyota TRS.”

SupaShock’s history of proven results left Castrol TRS Category Manager Nico Caillol with no doubt when designating the contract for the FT-60, “The SupaShock product is definitely one of the best of its type in the world and when we came up with the concept of the car with the power, downforce and range of circuits we will race in, there was really only one choice.”

So why was Supashock an easy choice?

  1. High response damping system providing more accurate turn in to each corner through lower lag time from peak longitudinal grip to peak lateral grip.
  2. Provides supple curb ride
  3. Lower thermal degradation
  4. High tuneability
  5. Log service life
  6. Serviceable Design
  7. Highest response, lowest hysteresis damper on the market
  8. Provide unrivalled reliability via lightweight and robust design
  9. One of the most versatile products in the global motorsport arena

The FT-60 shock absorber will be designed and produced across both of SupaShock’s Adelaide facilities, located in Edinburgh and Holden Hill.

The first event of the 2020 Castrol Toyota Racing Series will take place on January 17-19 at Highlands Motorsport Park in Cromwell, New Zealand.
